Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber Of Commerce 10th Anniversary Gala Awards Celebration
The Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce will host it's 10th Anniversary Gala Awards Celebration on March 26 at 6:00 p.m. at the Hilton Miami Downtown Hotel.
- Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) March 16, 2011 - The Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber Of Commerce (MDGLCC) will honor corporate and individual supporters of the Miami-Dade LGBT community at its 10th Anniversary Gala Awards Celebration, beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, at the Hilton Miami Downtown Hotel, 1601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami. The honorees were selected for their long-term commitment to fostering diversity, as well as for their efforts in contributing to the overall well being and quality of life in South Florida.
Joining the honorees at this year's Gala will be radio personality Michelle Visage from 93.9 MIA who will act as emcee for the awards presentation. Visage, who co-hosts 93.9 MIA's morning show "Michelle and Johnny in the Morning" is also a celebrity judge for this season's "RuPaul's Drag Race" on the Logo Network. Before joining 93.9 MIA, Visage co-hosted RuPaul's VH1 talk show "The RuPaul Show" and after leaving VH1, she co-hosted "The Jamz Session" on Hot 92 Jamz (KHHT) in Los Angeles. She then joined Mix 102.7 in New York City and was the host of "The Morning Mix" (WNEW-FM). Her career highlights also include Sirius Satellite Radio's "The Beat 36" and SUNNY 104.3 in West Palm Beach.
According to MDGLCC President Steve Adkins, returning for the 10th Anniversary Gala will be the popular silent auction. This year's auction will feature more than 100 items including a collectible Fender guitar, donated by Hard Rock Café Miami, that's signed by the performers of 2008's Miami Disco Fever Concert -- France Jolie, the original members of Lime, Tavares, GQ, The Trammps, Musique and Miquel Brown. Also up for bid is a priceless, two-hour ride over Miami in the MetLife Blimp and a week-long vacation in Buenos Aires, including airfare and accommodations.
Entertainment will be provided by Greek-American songstress Maria Zouroudis, known for a powerful, yet heart-felt voice, that delivers a fusion of pop, R&B and acoustic soul. Rounding out the entertainment will be DJ Edward, spinning into the late night.

This annual event, MDGLCC's principal fundraising effort, helps sustain operations and the ever-increasing demand to expand the Chamber's programming. The 10th Anniversary Gala Awards Celebration will feature a VIP champagne reception and silent auction beginning at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m., the awards ceremony at 9 p.m., and then a DJ and dancing beginning at 10:00 p.m.
"A Royal Affair" is produced by the MDGLCC and Cenergy.
