The title of the book, originates from a quote by the 20th century Swiss psychotherapist, Carl Jung.
"The collective unconscious is common to us all; it is the foundation of what the ancients called 'the sympathy of all things.'"
"Although I am telling the story of people and their connections to each other in a very real way, there is an underlying sense that the connection we have to one another may go deeper than what we see in the physical world," says Guilian.

She is currently living in the Middle East teaching the service members who are pursuing their degrees while deployed.
