Message On Hold Company and Variety, the children's charity Help Local Girl
Eager to give back to the community, telephone on-hold message specialists donates $30 from every on hold package to the Variety, the children's charity. Their contribution has now helped fund medical expenses for a 14-year-old girl who has Global Developmental Delay.
- (1888PressRelease) November 18, 2010 - Leading messages and music on hold company, Media Messages, has been working with Variety, the children's charity by raising funds to help children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs.
Media Messages national operations manager, Joshua Loftus, said that the audio production company supports the charity by donating $30 from every on hold package that is signed up.
"We really wanted to be able to give back to the community and make a difference somehow. When we spoke to the team at Variety, the children's charity, we knew that this was a worthwhile organisation.
"Recently, through our contributions, Media Messages was able to help a young local girl called Amanda, who has Global Developmental Delay. We felt very honoured to be able to help in such a big way," he said.
Mr Loftus explained that Amanda's condition means that she is unable to verbally communicate and has significant intellectual impairment. However, Amanda's motor skills have significantly improved over the years through constant encouragement from her carers to walk, stand and balance.
Doctors prescribed what is called Second Skin Postural Splints to assist with Amanda's development. The splints cost nearly $2000 and were simply not an affordable cost.
"Through our contributions to Variety, Media Messages was able to cover the cost of Amanda's splints. Amanda now wears them every day; it assists her in achieving correct body alignment and compensates for some of her involuntary movements and decreased muscle control," said Mr Loftus.
