Memorial Day Event Kicks Off Summer on Big Bear Lake
Captain John's Marina invites you to beat the heat and celebrate the arrival of summer on Big Bear Lake during their Memorial Day Summer Kick Off celebration.

Captain John's Fawn Harbor & Marina on Big Bear Lake invites you to join the Summer Day Kick Off celebrations lakeside at 39369 North Shore Drive in Fawnskin, California on Monday, May 26, 2014 from 8:00am until 6:00pm.
The annual family-friendly event celebrates the arrival of the summer season with live music, food, and fun--both on the lake and lakeside. This year the band Plethora will take the stage from Noon until 4:00pm.
Serena Saunders, marina manager at Captain John's Fawn Harbor & Marina (North Shore) and Captain John's Marina Big Bear (South Shore) said, "Come help us kick off the summer! You can listen to live music, picnic, paddle, play horseshoes and a whole lot more. We will have a lot happening and hope you can join us."
Big Bear Lake is located in the San Bernardino Mountains at an elevation of 6,750 feet and is easily accessible from Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego, making it a favorite destination for Southern California residents. Lake levels are lower than last year but this means access to more lakeside beach areas for lakeside strolls, bird watching and shoreline play.
Popular lake sports include stand-up paddle boarding (SUPing), kayaking and canoeing, lake boat fishing, water skiing, wake boarding and annual events on the lake include a number of fishing tournaments and a paddle fest. Captain John's has a number of unique events planned for this summer
Saunders said, "We enjoy getting people out on the lake and into lake sports, and now have a lakeside event location for celebrations such as birthdays or weddings. This means the Summer Kick Off Celebration would be a great time to check us out. If you come up, consider taking one of our eco-friendly boat tours, or private lake boat cruises. We are next to a wildlife sanctuary and in a location rich with history--you'll love it."
