- Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) September 27, 2011 - Melanie Black Dubis, a partner at Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP, has been named by North Carolina Lawyer's Weekly as a recipient of the 2011 Leaders in the Law Award, which honors individuals in the legal profession who have made positive strides across the state of North Carolina through leadership in both the community and legal profession. Award recipients were honored at a Sept. 22 reception at the Marriott City Center in Raleigh.
Recognized as a leading North Carolina litigator, Dubis concentrates her practice on both corporate and individual clients in unfair and deceptive trade practices and trade secret litigation, securities litigation and intellectual property litigation. Actively involved in the community, Dubis' civic and nonprofit affiliations include serving as a member of the communication and education committees of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Carolina Ballet and the pro bono general counsel for Alliance of AIDS Services-Carolina.
