Dr. Ulmer plays an integral role in the EMP Recruiting Team on the East Coast, hosting all recruiting dinners; his presentations show potential candidates what makes EMP distinct from other emergency medicine companies. Dr. Ulmer is board certified in Emergency Medicine. He has been with EMP since 2007.
As a child, did you dream of becoming a physician?
Not really... doing rectal exams was one of the last things I ever dreamed of.
Why did you choose Emergency Medicine?
Work hard. Play hard. Repeat.
Can you recall your most memorable moment from your residency?
Getting told by my Internal Medicine senior resident that I was a "mental midget."
What words of wisdom would you give to someone planning a career in medicine?
Unless you're in prison, never fight naked.
When you are not working a rigorous schedule in the ED, what do you do in your free time?
Rooting for Ohio State football. Go Bucks!
In your opinion, what will attract future physicians to EMP?
The recruiting dinners!
