Medical Staffing Network and W3d Announce "Nurse of the Month" Winner
Medical Staffing Network (MSN) announces winner of the latest Nurse of the Month contest, which honors exceptional local nurses.

The contest, which MSN has been co-sponsoring with local Carbondale radio station 107.3 W3D, honors exceptional local nurses. The contest is promoted on the air, and nominations were open to the public via the station's website.
The latest Nurse of the Month winner is Melodie Anderson, RN, the Continuing & Simulation Coordinator at Southern Illinois Healthcare. The nomination was made by several of her peers, who said, "Melodie is always there in meeting the needs of the staff and assist with providing safe, quality care for the patients. She is kind, compassionate and respectful of those she serves. She will listen and assist in promoting excellent patient care.
She has promoted patient safety in the operating room for years by going above and beyond in becoming certified in her profession, sitting on national boards of AORN and mentoring staff to develop those attributes that promote quality patient safety. She has been promoted to facilitating Corporate Education in Simulation and Continuing Education for the nurses of SIH Hospitals. We miss her in the Operating area here at the hospital."
MSN's Carbondale Branch Manager, Shelley Zeigler, and Misty Stover from W3D presented the prizes to Melodie, which included a Miller Spinal Health massage and a Houlihan's Restaurant gift certificate.
