Cumberland Medical Institute is authorized by the Georgia Post Secondary Education Commission. The institute is now offering an opportunity to become a Georgia State Certified Nursing Assistant and an NHA Certified Medical Assistant. This program will help you earn two titles!
To enter, you'll be required to have:
1. Government-issued ID and SSC
2. High school diploma or GED
3. Clean criminal record
4. Working knowledge of computers
5. Math/Lang: 12th grade
6. Typing speed 20 wpm
7. Ability to communicate effectively in English
You will receive books, print materials, cert exam prep, job leads, and resume-building support during the course. Candidates will be able to enhance their skills and increase their knowledge to effectively carry out their job roles through this program. They will receive training in the classroom as well as hands-on lab practice that will help them become familiar with the various duties of a CCMA and CNA. This course will prepare candidates to perform patient care, clinical, and administrative tasks in various healthcare facilities such as hospitals, nursing homes, urgent care clinics, physician offices, and more.
The various activities you will become familiar with throughout the program are:
● Primary and advanced patient care
● Venipuncture
● Dermal and capillary puncture
● Point of care testing
● Blood specimen collection/processing
● 12 lead EKG
● Telemetry monitoring,
● Patient intake
● Scheduling
● Risk management and injections
You can choose from day or evening classes depending upon your convenience. The
first 4 weeks of classes will run Monday to Friday, five days a week. Classes will reduce to 2 days per week, Tuesday and Thursday, for the remainder of the 12 weeks. The Medical Assistant & CNA Combo is a program whose duration is 16 weeks.
