The complete overhaul included a new paint job, new laces, and new signage. After a stop in Las Vegas, Shoebacca took the rejuvenated red, white, and black giant shoe on to Course for the Force, the five-day light-saber relay race to raise money for Make a Wish Foundation in California July 7 - 11, 2012.

Beginning at the Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles, the shoe made the trek to Comic-Con International in San Diego, California. There was also an opportunity for fans to meet Peter Mayhew, Chewbacca from "Star Wars". Upcoming plans include a big event with Kaiser Permanente Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Angel Stadium, in Anaheim, California as part of their Get Fit campaign. Shoebacca will be sponsoring the 5K Fun Run and showing off the big shoe and promoting an active lifestyle.
