Meals On Wheels South Florida Celebrates 35 Years of Serving The South Florida Community
Proceeds/Sponsorships to Benefit Meals on Wheels Programs and Services.
- Fort Lauderdale, FL (1888PressRelease) November 07, 2019 - Members of the South Florida community are invited to attend Meals on Wheels South Florida’s 35th anniversary celebration on December 5, 2019. With the support of volunteers and corporate partners, the event will celebrate 35 years of providing nutritious meals and safety checks to South Florida’s senior community. Meals on Wheels South Florida is hosting this milestone event from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at their corporate headquarters located at 451 North State Road 7 in Plantation.
The “Winter Wonderland” event will feature a menu and signature cocktail designed especially for the event, award ceremony, silent auction and many more surprises. Proceeds/sponsorships will benefit Meals on Wheels South Florida, which strives to end hunger across all ages with kindness, dignity and compassion.
The volunteer team at Meals on Wheels South Florida assists the organization by delivering meals to homebound clients, providing grocery shopping assistance to seniors who are unable to shop for themselves, serving meals at congregate dining sites and more. Volunteers also spearhead the Meals for Companion Pets Program, which delivers pet food once a month to home-bound seniors who need assistance taking care of their animals.
Meals on Wheels South Florida is part of a national network, Meals on Wheels America, the only national organization and network dedicated solely to ending senior hunger in America. They are the oldest and largest organization composed of and representing local, community-based Senior Nutrition Programs in all 50 states and U.S. territories.
“Celebrating this milestone with our staff, Board of Directors, volunteers and supporters is a significant accomplishment,” said Mark Adler, Executive Director of Meals on Wheels South Florida. “It showcases our ongoing commitment to providing programs and services allowing seniors to remain independent in their own homes.”
Remaining event sponsorships range from $1,000 to $10,000. Additional packages and sponsorship opportunities may be tailored to specific individual, corporate and community objectives.
