Meadowlands Regional Chamber To Reorganize Its Board And Provide Comments On The "State Of The Meadowlands" At Its Annual Meeting Luncheon
New Jersey Business Action Center Director Linda Kellner Will Provide Keynote Address.
- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) November 04, 2010 - Meadowlands Regional Chamber (MRC) President Jim Kirkos will discuss plans to leverage Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014 to the benefit of the region and provide a Sports Complex and Xanadu advocacy update at the Chamber's Annual Meeting Luncheon on November 9 at Landmark II in East Rutherford from 11:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The selection of Linda Kellner, executive director of Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno's New Jersey Business Action Center (BAC), as the keynote speaker reflects the Chamber's emphasis on business centric issues that are affecting the Meadowlands.
The public affairs role of business service organizations like the MRC, which is expected to reach over 1000 members by the end of 2010, is becoming as critical to the region's prosperity as educational and practical objectives, according to Kirkos.
"At first gradually and now with great momentum, the Chamber has asserted the interest of the business community in the political dialog not just of our region, but of our state," says Kirkos. "Our Chamber has strongly advocated directly to elected and appointed officials on matters ranging from redevelopment of the Sports Complex, statewide gaming policy, regional infrastructure and transportation development, workplace rule and job creation, education reform, tourism and economic development."
The BAC, introduced by the New Jersey Department of State earlier this year, is a "one-stop" shop and plays a key role in attracting, retaining and growing businesses in the state. The center provides professional and coordinated assistance to businesses in the resolution of permit applications, licenses, certificates and other business-related approvals. BAC also provides services to domestic and international businesses looking to remain, expand or locate to New Jersey.
As a well respected business service organization, the Meadowlands Regional Chamber strives to keep membership sharply abreast of news, public policies, economic developments, and initiatives. For more information on the Chamber, visit the MRC website at www.meadowlands.org.
