McDonald Volkswagen Gears Up To Receive the 2012 Volkswagen Passat Coming In July
McDonald Volkswagen in Littleton, CO is getting ready to fill its lots with the newly redesigned Volkswagen Passat
- Denver, CO (1888PressRelease) June 29, 2011 - The much anticipated arrival of the 2012 Volkswagen Passat has VW enthusiasts and dealerships alike chomping at the bit to get their hands on them. The newly redesigned Passats will arrive at the McDonald Volkswagen dealership in Littleton, Colorado on July 7th for a formal unveiling and the lots will be stocked with the Passats by summer's end.
"We are really excited to receive the new Passats," explains Jim McDonald, General Manager of McDonald Volkswagen. "This new model was designed specifically with Americans in mind and I think people are really going to love the new body style and features."
The first American-made Volkswagen in 23 years, the 2012 Passat will be produced in Volkswagen's Chattanooga, Tennessee plant and will come with all the bells and whistles but at a wallet-friendly price. The new Passat starts at just $19,995 for the 170-hp 2.5-liter five- cylinder and Bluetooth, trip computer, steering-wheel controls and an automatic climate control system are just a few items on a long list of standard equipment.
Moving up to the Passat TDI gets you the 2.0-liter turbodiesel, which is rated at 31 mpg in the city and 43 mpg on the highway. Then there is the Passat V6, which produces 280 horsepower and has a six-speed DSG. The V6 SEL package adds navigation, a 30GB hard drive, leather seats with Dynamica inserts and Autumn Nut Burl interior trim.
We changed the design to the more grand, the more stunning- we gave the car more road presence," said Klaus Bischoff, Head of VW product design, at the 2011 North American International Auto show in Detroit. "I think it will attract American customers very much."
With three engine choices, a luxuriously roomy backseat, and a stylish dash resembling a cock-pit, this new model surely has the style and elegance of Passats of the past but with an American touch. It is truly an American-made car while still holding true to its German-engineering roots that will surely please Colorado car enthusiasts when it makes its way to the McDonald Volkswagen lots.
