MBAF's Frank Gonzalez appointed President of The South Florida Banking Institute.
- Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) June 30, 2011 - Frank Gonzalez, CPA/ CFF, principal in the Audit Department at the nationally recognized public accounting firm Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra, LLC (MBAF), was recently appointed president of the South Florida Banking Institute (SFBI) for the 2011-2012 fiscal year. Gonzalez leads MBAF's Financial Institutions and SEC practices.
SFBI provides comprehensive resources to strengthen bankers' capabilities, offer technical and managerial assistance to aid professional development and supply value-added information to enhance performance through educational programs, research, publications, products, services and regulatory contacts designed to meet the changing banker needs.

Gonzalez directs the firm's work with community banks, international banks/agencies and mortgage companies. He is highly experienced in the rigorous regulatory and compliance standards applied to the industry, and works with both domestic and international banking organizations. He has experience in performing audits and advisory services to bank organizations ranging in size from billion dollar multi-nationals to start-up institutions. Also, Gonzalez has experience in providing audit and business advisory services to many national and international public (SEC) and privately held companies. In 2010, Gonzalez was selected as the Banking and Finance winner of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce's Salute to Miami's Leaders Awards. And in 2005, he was honored by the South Florida Business Journal as Excellence in Accounting - Financial Institutions.
An active professional, he was previously the president of the board of Cuban-American Certified Public Accountants Association. Additionally, he has served on the board of the South Florida Banking Institute and Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. A proud alumnus, Gonzalez currently serves on Florida International University's School of Accounting Advisory Board, School of Business Leadership Circle Board, and the Athletic Board. He currently serves on the board and finance committee of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, as audit committee chairman for the Orange Bowl Committee, and as audit committee chairman and finance and administration committee member of the United Way of Miami-Dade. He is the past chairman of Kiwanis Club of Little Havana & Foundation.
Gonzalez received a bachelor of accounting degree from Florida International University and a master of business administration degree in accounting and finance from the University of Miami.
