On the heels of the release of Mazda's SKYACTIV® fuel efficiency technology, Mazda has made another automotive advancement with the industry-first capacitor-based regenerative braking system.
The new braking system from Mazda is called "i-ELOOP". The new technology like SKYACTIV®, helps to improve fuel efficiency. The i-ELOOP system is estimated in real-world driving situations to improve fuel economy by 10%.
Typical regenerative braking systems are made with batteries that lose their effectiveness over time. Mazda's system utilizes a capacitor, which is an electrical component that can hold huge volumes of electricity.
