Mary Carrick And Todd Brooks To Perform At Lauritzen Gardens Art In Bloom Festival
Mary Carrick and Todd Brooks will bring a little bit of Broadway and The Great American Songbook to the Lauritzen Gardens on August 14 and 15, 2010 for the annual Art in Bloom Festival. The duo will be featured from 9:30-10:30 a.m. each day of the festival.
- Omaha, NE-IA (1888PressRelease) August 06, 2010 - Omaha entertainers Mary Carrick and Todd Brooks, will be featured performers at the Lauritzen Gardens' annual Art in Bloom Festival, August 14 and 15, 2010. The duo will perform songs from Broadway, the Great American Songbook, and other jazz standards from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
The Art in Bloom Festival features artwork from high-quality, local and regional visual artists. Painters, photographers, metal smiths, jewelers and other artists display, sell and demonstrate their work. All artwork displayed will portray a botanical theme.
In addition to the visual artists, Art in Bloom also features local performing artists entertaining guests of all ages. Children's activities, artist demonstrations, walking garden art tours and more create an artistic, interactive experience.
Carrick and Brooks perform extensively throughout the Omaha metro area and the region, both concert and cabaret style, as well as individually with theatres and professional arts organizations including Opera Omaha, Omaha Symphony, Omaha Community Playhouse, SNAP Productions, Bellevue Little Theatre, BroadStreet Theatre among others. They were recognized with the Outstanding Cabaret Award from the Theatre Arts Guild in 2008 and were recently nominated for the same award in 2010. Brooks is also an accomplished director, music director, and arranger.
