Markus Pompejus, Vice President of White Biotechnology Research at BASF will give a keynote presentation at the 5th Biobased Chemicals Commercialization & Partnering Conference to be held on Sep. 18-19, 2014 in San Francisco, CA.
- (1888PressRelease) June 12, 2014 - As Vice President, Dr. Markus Pompejus heads research for White Biotechnology for BASF in North America. Dr. Pompejus has various responsibilities and leadership roles in BASF in Germany, South Korea and the U.S., ranging from research, product and process development, commercial operations and production to new business development. He has strong experience in the areas of genetic and metabolic engineering, bioprocessing, bioactive materials, scale-up and production. Starting June 2011, he began heading the Research for Bioactive Materials and White Biotechnology Research for BASF Corporation in Tarrytown, NY. Starting with the acquisition of Verenium in November 2013, Dr. Pompejus assumed his current position with locations in Tarrytown, NY and San Diego, CA.
This two-day conference brings together top representatives who are engaged in establishing a major transformation in the global chemical and energy industries from petroleum to biobased. The conference will look to examine new supply chain developments and business models being adopted for biobased chemicals products.
