The film, which stars Tatum O'Neal, Michael Biehn and Penelope Ann Miller, tells the story of a Missouri couple who are thrown into chaos when the husband's sister is released from the local asylum and comes to live with the family during the infamous 1951 flood that covered the Heartland.
Shepherd was discovered by Bogdanovich in 1970 on a fashion magazine cover during her modeling career. He gave her a starring role in his critically acclaimed film The Last Picture Show (1971). She went on to star in his other films Daisy Miller (1974) and At Long Last Love (1975).
Booboo will be honored with the "Rising Star Award" at the 17th annual Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival, Sept. 18 at the Black Tie Awards Gala at the Pechanga Resort. The Festival runs from Sept. 14-18.
