Marco's Pizza Appoints New Vice President
From Behind the Counter to the Corporate Office, Dan O'Malley Moves up the Ranks.
- Toledo, OH (1888PressRelease) October 30, 2013 - Marco's Pizza, the fastest growing pizza company in the U.S., named Dan O'Malley as Vice President, effective immediately. As Director of Franchise Operations since 2011, O'Malley has been responsible for providing direction to the Franchise Representatives and Area Representative Coordinators so that Marco's Pizza franchise owners are best positioned to achieve high results. Having worked in almost every position for Marco's Pizza including delivery driver, pizza maker, management, marketing, dishwasher, janitor, and even an oven cleaner, O'Malley is ready to bring all his Marco's Pizza experience to his new position as Vice President.
Soon after President and CEO, Jack Butorac, purchased the franchise rights for Marco's Pizza, O'Malley was given the opportunity to become the Franchise Representative for Cleveland, OH. In this role, O'Malley was responsible for Franchisees in the area and made a contribution to their business with special emphasis on PSI, profitability, compliance, training, and communication. With the company's rapid growth and inception of the Area Representatives program, O'Malley was promoted to AR Coordinator in 2008. After excelling in that role, the company continued to grow and develop and so did O'Malley who was named Director of Franchise Operations in 2011.
"Having spent most of his career working in different positions with Marco's Pizza, O'Malley has played an integral role in the brand's rapid expansion at every level," said Butorac. "With experience working behind the counter himself, he knows how to connect with franchisees and provide them with the tools they need to succeed and grow the Marco's Pizza brand."
Because of the company's strong corporate backing, ability to take market share, its Italian food standards and its people, the Marco's Pizza franchise system took less than five years to more than double in size. As a result, Marco's Pizza has received high praise from Entrepreneur Magazine and AllBusiness.com which ranked Marco's in the top 10 Allstar franchise systems. Most recently, Marco's Pizza ranked as number 2 on the Nation's Restaurant News' second 100 top 10 newcomers.
As Vice President, O'Malley's goal is to grow the company both in terms of number of locations and store profitability. "I take pride in the small victories. For example, I always get charged up after working with a franchise owner having difficulty realizing the full potential of his or her store, and over time watching sales and profits increase," said O'Malley. "I feel accomplished when I can inspire positive change in others, and that is what I intend to do in my new role as Vice President."
