Maranatha Human Services Launches "People Embracing People" - PEP Pilot Program
PEP creates a unique living situation for developmentally disabled individuals by placing them with host families.
- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) May 05, 2016 - Maranatha Human Services launched a pilot program titled PEP which stands for "People Embracing People." Recruitment & support activities will be based from their Richmond Hill, NY headquarters located at 108-23 Jamaica Avenue.
This program places developmentally disabled individuals with host families as a unique care alternative. The objective of the program is the promote growth, independence and overall well-being for individuals by providing an alternative to traditional care options. PEP's mission is to "better lives by bringing people together through care, companionship, and compensation."
A similar program has been offered by Maranatha Human Services in the Mid-Hudson Valley area and has expanded to serve various neighborhoods in New York City. PEP is open to individuals of all ages. In addition, Family Care providers receive training and ongoing support from professional staff to assist them in meeting the needs of individuals in their homes.
Maranatha Human Services, established in 1987, offers a broad-based system of community services administered by trained professionals who serve the individual by creating linkages among human services through the co-operative effort of government support and private sector innovation.
