(1888PressRelease) June 28, 2013 - "The national papers frequently report extremes of both positive and negative news on the UK housing market. It's hard to know what to believe. Should you buy or rent? Is now the right time to invest? How much will my property be worth in a year?
"It is easy to get overwhelmed with information and struggle to decide your next move.
"National statistics take into account areas that may seem incomparable and takes an average. Although this is a good indicator of the direction of the housing market and, in turn, the economy, when it comes to selling your property, it may not be that useful.
"When you have a property to sell, the factors that will impact your asking price are; your expectations and timeframes and the demand and supply of your property type, on your road, in your neighbourhood and in your town.
"If statistics are important to you, I would suggest researching what is happening in your region rather than nationally. If you believe Rightmove, across our area of operation in the South East average house prices have risen by 3.4% over the last month, compared with a decrease of 0.5% in London and higher increases of 4.4% in East Anglia. Similarly the annual change in asking price nationally was just 0.4% but in the South East this was a much more promising 1.1% compared with -3.5% in the North.
