Making Art Work, A New Book For Artists Who Want To Make A Living, Creatively
A behind-the-scenes look at the launch of DenArt, New York's first retail body painting studio, seeks to inspire artists to revolutionize their business model and marketing strategy.
- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) January 30, 2015 - In the new book Making Art Work: A Case Study in Monetization of Creative Skills in a Non-Traditional Way, Ekaterina Dorozhkina, the marketing and business development leader behind DenArt, encourages artists and creative entrepreneurs to think outside the box about their own creative enterprises. The book is part how-to manual, part narrative with candid stories of the marketing successes and failures that gave birth to New York's first retail body painting studio. Through straight-forward questions and advice guided by the real-life collaboration and risk-taking of DenArt's creators Danny Setiawan and Ekaterina Dorozhkina, readers are asked to consider their own skills and business goals and also to reconsider the traditional route of the artist. Empowerment is a theme that ties the book together: As DenArt grows, Setiawan and Dorozhkina are empowered to take more risks in their marketing strategies, their clients are empowered through the liberating experience of body painting, and the readers are encouraged to take control of their own artistic destiny through innovative business models and marketing strategies.
The book is available in three formats: 1. The full-color version, with photographs of Satiawan's body paintings as well as marketing events ($23.36); 2. The black-and-white text-only version ($9.95); and 3. The e-reader version, includes photographs ($4.99). All three versions are available through Amazon.com Both hardcopy versions will become available to retail stores in late March.
