  • (1888PressRelease) August 12, 2014 - Brunswick, Maine - nQ Partners announced a major breakthrough in the cost of Fusion Energy with the introduction of nQ Technology, a new class of monolithic integrated circuit. The new technology is based on nano vacuum tubes manufactured in a low cost polycrystalline diamond process.

"Transitioning from fossil fuels climate safe alternative to fossil fuels to is the engineering challenge of our time, says Ms. Brown, spokesperson for nQ Partners. By applying Moore's Law fusion energy, the transition can be accelerated by reducing the cost of fusion energy far below the cost of fossil fuels. It has been one year since the scientist working at the National Ignition Facility, the world's largest laser achieved break even in Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF). It became clear to nQ Partners the ICF process could also run on a Heavy Ion Fusion (HIF) Driver and a HIF Driver could be implemented in nQ technology.

Ms. Brown said, "The cost of fusion energy is the cost of capital to build the fusion driver, a machine capable of driving the fusion fuel to million of degrees. Fusion fuel is inexhaustible and essentially free. The cost of a fusion driver is related to the peal power energy and the existing technologies are expensive, estimated at $1000 a joule as compared to $10/joule for an nQ Driver. At this cost, an HIF Fusion Driver cost less than an offshore oil rig".

'While the technology is open sourced, nQ patents are assigned to a non profit Charity providing food for children in poverty."
