- (1888PressRelease) November 19, 2010 - At last nights Drapers Awards Luke 1977 and Pretty Green cleared up in the designer clothing stakes, taking home the 'Young Fashion Brand of the Year' and 'Menswear Brand of the Year' respectively. This signals a fantastic twelve months for both brands in which they have grown not only in the size of their collection, but in public and online exposure and reputation as two of the hottest designer brands around.
Both brands were in good company last night with 2009s 'Highly Commended' Luke 1977 grouped with Diesel, Firetrap, Fred Perry, G Star and Superdry and Pretty Green with last years winner Polo Ralph Lauren, Boss Orange and Paul Smith. To jump from highly commended to winner in a year is a monumental leap for creator and designer Luke Roper, Simon Poole and the rest of the Luke 1977 team and coincides with the time Luke 1977 has spent on Mainline Menswear. Even more impressive is that they beat last year's winners and best selling brand throughout the UK Lyle and Scott, and other much longer established designer brands. If Luke 1977 are to follow in their footsteps then the future is looking VERY bright for the British designer brand.
Pretty Green will be brand new at Mainline Menswear and is due for Spring Summer 2011, with both the green and black label being sold. This will include polo shirts, denim, parkas, shirts, knitwear, jumpers and zip tops and t shirts amongst other fantastic designs. Pretty Green surmises their brand as: Pretty Green is a British clothing label founded and designed by Liam Gallagher. The green label is a focussed, casual range dedicated to providing quality, everyday signature pieces. Black label is classic British tailoring, using fine fabrics with an innovative attention to detail.
This attention to detail and design by a Manchester music legend is helping the brand push on to new heights within the fashion world. At last nights awards Liam Gallagher was as vocal as ever upon his acceptance of the award and commented "Myself, Nick (Holland) and the team are absolutely buzzing that Pretty Green has won a Drapers Award; which is a massive achievement for such a young brand". That it is, and Mainline Menswear are proud to be stocking Pretty Green next year.
Mainline Menswear stock over 100 of the biggest brands in the world, and can now count two award winning brands within their ranks. Congratulations to both, and here is to an outstanding 2011 for both brands and the top independent designer menswear retailer.
