Categories mainly include – sub-compact, compact, small utility & large utility. These categories will cover 40 tractor models of different horsepower. They will cater to both domestic and global markets like the USA, South-East Asia and Japan.
On Independence Day, 15th Aug 2023, M&M plans to launch this Mahindra Oja Lightweight Tractor to launch new & innovative products.
Tractors Covered Under this Platform
On August 15, 2023, M&M will unveil its most technologically-advanced global tractor platform - Mahindra Oja.
On 6th April 2023, Mahindra Tractor Division disclosed the name of its odenamed K2. It is named ‘Oja’. It is the Sanskrit word ‘Ojas’ that reflects words like energy, vitality and strength.
Mahindra Oja - 4 Sub-platforms, 40 models, 4 Global Markets
Mahindra Oja features 4 platforms and 40 models and covers 4 key domestic & global markets like India, the US, South East Asia and Japan. The platform will feature a tractor ranging from 20 to 70 hp. Each Mahindra Oja tractor is set to have “best first-in-class technology features.”
The Mahindra OJA will have 4 platforms as —-
Sub Compact (20-25hp)
Compact (21-30hp)
Small Utility (26-40hp)
Large Utility (45-70hp)
It was in March 2021; the K2 new tractor range programme was outlined. They started with 37 models; now, they have 40 models. They have further added 3 new tractors.
Future-proof Farming Platform
This future proof Mahindra Oja platform is focused at expanding global farming to achieve voluminous sales. This platform was created with close cooperation between the engineering teams of — Mitsubishi Mahindra Agriculture Machinery and Japan and Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai (the R&D centre for Mahindra’s Auto & Farm sector).
Mahindra Oja tractors will be manufactured at Mahindra’s Zaheerabad tractor plant. It is the largest plant in South Asia and is also believed to be the youngest plant. This vertically integrated tractor facility engineers the next-generation Yuvo and Jivo tractors range, including the latest Plus Series of tractors.
Mahindra is the only tractor manufacturer in Telangana, having an investment of Rs 1,087 crore in Zaheerabad. The plant has over 1,500 employees with the capacity to produce 100,000 tractors per annum via two shifts.
The plant is capable of producing 330 different tractor variants with hp ranging between 30 to 100 hp, technologically advanced tractors.
