Magnum Opus Announcers Sacramento Fashion Week 2010 Benefiting The Make‐A‐Wish Foundation Of Sacramento & NE California Sacramento, CA (September 28th, 2010).
- Sacramento, CA (1888PressRelease) September 30, 2010 - This year Sacramento Fashion Week will be benefit a non profit organization. Make‐A‐Wish Foundation of Sacramento & NE California will be the sole beneficiary with 100% of all net profits going towards the Foundation.
Kicking off the week will be an exclusive Launch Party on Tuesday November 16th. A fashion Forum will be held Wednesday November 17th, which will be produced by SAC State Student Fashion Association and held at Sacramento State University.
The Emerging Designers showcase is being scheduled to take place on Thursday November 18th which will feature designs from some of our region's top student designers. Friday November 19th, the finale showcase will highlight both 2011 Spring Collections, as well as Couture Collections from some of Sacramento's premier cutting edge fashion designers. Both of these shows will be held at the new Verge Gallery and Studios Project downtown.
Sacramento Fashion Week is geared toward showcasing the fashion and artistic talents of the Sacramento Region. Giving new and upcoming designers a platform to showcase their collection they normally would not be able to.
The Verge Gallery and Studio Project is the concept of local software and internet entrepreneur Jesse Powell. Acquiring the building in 2007, Powell's initial vision was to convert the more than 13,000 foot warehouse into subsidized studios for local and emerging artists on an invitational basis. Part of the sprawling space will also showcase large contemporary art. www.vergegallery.com
The Make‐A‐Wish Foundation of Sacramento & NE California is a non‐profit organization committed to helping children with life‐threatening medical conditions by making their dreams come true. The Foundation now grants a wish to a sick child every 40 minutes. Contributions to this organization are tax deductible. www.makeawish‐sacto.org
Emerging Designers showcasing their collections are as follows. Noognuv Thao, Kira Martinson, Nkaujer Thor, Melissa Kay, Myisha Lampkin, Faatui Toele, Grace Sims, Aubrey Jade & Brenda Villalta. Finale designers are yet to be determined. A press party will be held in mid October to announce further details on selected designers and rundown of the week.
