With contributions from their subsidiary companies, Lynch Logistics, Inc. and Lynco, Inc. have collected more than 2,600 pounds of donated items during their annual holiday food drive.
- Bangor, ME (1888PressRelease) December 13, 2013 - Continuing a holiday tradition among their subsidiary companies, Lynch Logistics, Inc. and Lynco, Inc. announced that they will be donating more than 2,600 pounds of food to the Good Shepherd Food Bank, following the successful conclusion of their 2013 Holiday Food Drive.
Spearheaded by employees Sue Clark and Mary Henrique, Lynch Logistics and Lynco orchestrated a company-wide plan this year to collect donations for the holiday season. The effort began with a Chili Challenge Cook-Off in October, for which thirteen entrants and all voters brought in non-perishable donations. In November, Lynch and Lynco followed up the Cook-Off with a friendly internal contest, challenging each of their affiliate companies, comprised of 97 employees in total, to bring in the most donations, as measured by weight.
"We all chip in for the holidays," says Ryan Lynch, Vice President of Lynco, Inc. "We take pride in providing the safest, most reliable service for our customers throughout Maine and Northern New England, and the holiday season gives us a chance to go the extra mile and give something back to our local community. This drive is something we put together every year," he adds, "and all our employees look forward to the challenge and contribution."
The team at Central Maine Truck and Trailer Service came in first this year, in both the Chili Cook-Off and the November food drive challenge.
In total, the Lynch Family of Companies brought in 2,697 pounds of canned and dried goods this year, which will be donated to the Good Shepherd Food Bank.
