LVC-4000 Signal Conditioner Supports Electronic Partitioning of LVDT, VR Half Bridge, RVDT and even LVDT-Based Pressure Sensors
Designed specifically for operation with passive sensors remotely located up to 30m+ (100+ feet), the EAZY-CAL LVC 4000 Signal Conditioner is configurable with any type of LVDT, RVDT, VR half bridge and even LVDT-based pressure sensors.
- (1888PressRelease) August 12, 2014 - In demanding industrial applications associated with high temperature, radiation and sub-sea conditions, sensor reliability is of paramount importance to ensure long-term and accurate system operations and reduced maintenance.
In these extreme environments where operating parameters can exceed the limits of sensor internal electronics, passive AC-operated linear and rotary position sensors are often used with remotely-located electronics such as Macro Sensors EAZY-CAL LVC 4000 LVDT Signal Conditioner that power the sensors as well as amplify and demodulate their output.
This push button programmable signal conditioner has the ability to provide 1 of 4 different frequencies, analog and digital outputs and the ease of programming the zero and span values via a front panel push button display with LEDs.
The LVC 4000 Signal Conditioner can be connected together in master/slave configuration up to 16 devices simultaneously for multiple-channel applications. Since an LVDT can operate from 2000 to 10000Hz, the EAZY CAL LVC 4000 offers a choice of 2500Hz, 5000Hz, 7500Hz or 10000Hz drive frequency. The LVDT Signal Conditioner also provides 4-20 mA (analog), 0-10VDC (analog) and RS485 (digital) outputs that the user can read with today's process control system such DCS, PLC or others.
Typical applications of Macro Sensors EAZY-CAL LVC 4000 Signal Conditioner include interfacing with LVDT linear position sensors used to monitor the operations of coal-powered power plants, gas turbines and nuclear power plants. The LVC-4000 Signal Conditioner has also been specified to interface with LVDT-based low pressure differential pressure (dP) sensors used in heavy water holding tanks found in nuclear power plants. In this application, the core is attached to the dP diaphragm and encased within the dP body of the sensor. The LVDT, contained within the dP housing, is rated to 100 Mega Rads as it contains no integral electronics. A radiation-resistant cable is used to connect the sensor from the radiation area to the safe area where the EAZY-CAL LVC 4000 Signal Conditioner is located.
