Curiosity Middle East Magazine, a high-end prestigious travel and lifestyle publication owned by H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal Al Qassimi, has just introduced the Arabic print edition and will shortly be launching its Arabic website.

According to industry estimates outbound tourism from GCC including MICE and luxury tourism is estimated at $19.06 billion for an approximate 37 million tourists. Elaborating on the significance of the region in the luxury sector, Mr Al Baker, stressed, "Over the past decade, the GCC and UAE in particular, established itself as the next frontier in luxury travel for the affluent. Marrying innovation with tradition, the region continues to grow as a top luxury destination as well as source market. A total of $182 billion was spent on international luxury travel last year and more than $1000, per night was spent by luxury travellers from the UAE, India, Kuwait, Brazil, Canada and China. Twenty per cent of MENA residents chose to fly first or business class while travelling, 17 per cent of residents spent between $3,000 and $5,000; nine per cent spent between $5,000 and $7,000; while 14 per cent spend more than $7,000 on a family holiday. The Middle East registered a 9% growth in outbound travel numbers last year, making it the fastest growing outbound market. Mr Ali Al Baker is a financial analyst (oil and gas financial planner) who has been working for Saudi Aramco for the past nine years. Having been educated in USA, Mr Al Baker holds a dual citizenship and began his career in Houston before moving to Kuwait and later Saudi Arabia. With strong and well-rounded Business Development expertise along with in-depth understanding and experience of varied industries, Mr Al Baker is also involved in his family business with interests in commercial and residential real estate, construction and hospitality sectors.
Writing, marketing and travelling is a passion for Mr Al Baker and, therefore, he will contribute to the growth of Curiosity ME in KSA. However, while looking after strategic projects for the publication in KSA, he will continue to work for Saudi Aramco in his current capacity.
