Lumenis Launches UltraPulse DUO at the ELS Congress and Invites ENT Physicians to Join LINK, A New Revolutionary Platform for Clinical Knowledge
The Company's Comprehensive Set of Activities at the ELS Congress Strengthens Collaboration with the ENT Surgical Community.
- (1888PressRelease) October 03, 2016 - Lumenis Ltd., the world's largest energy-based medical device company for surgical, aesthetic and ophthalmic applications, launches the UltraPulse DUO CO2 advanced laser platform alongside LINK, a new communication channel for ENT medical professionals, at the 11th congress of the European Laryngological Society (ELS), taking place in Genoa, Italy, from June 8-11, 2016.
For years, UltraPulse has been synonymous for precision in transoral laser microsurgery. The new UltraPulse DUO features the ultra-precise Digital AcuBlade scanning micromanipulator capabilities and high CO2 laser fiber energy within the same platform. By seamlessly alternating between the two energy deliveries, surgeons can access challenging anatomy beyond their line-of-sight and treat hard-to-reach areas with great delicacy and precision.
"Providing precise, individualized patient care can be challenging for ENT surgeons because of the broad spectrum of surgical situations that can arise during the procedure," commented Marc Remacle, M.D., Ph.D., Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg. "With the combined modality of the CO2 laser and the easy shift between free beam and fiber deliveries I can delicately address any clinical challenge while preserving healthy tissue, which is very important for the patient's recovery and comfort."
This unique combination of two laser energy deliveries is available only with the Lumenis' DUO platforms, which also includes the AcuPulse™ DUO, which is the first integrated CO2 laser system. Both the UltraPulse DUO and the AcuPulse DUO systems are accompanied by a wide range of surgical accessories, along with cost effective fibers that feature renewable tips, an aiming beam and high energy transmission. The versatile Lumenis DUO product line is designed for smart tissue management and for optimal treatment of hard-to-reach delicate anatomy and is the result of the strong collaboration with the ENT community.
This strong collaboration also yielded LINK, an advanced communication channel introduced at the ELS conference. Lumenis invites ELS attendees to join LINK at the Lumenis booth to be the first to take part in a revolutionary platform that will change the way experts communicate. Created to encourage the sharing of knowledge between industry experts, the multi-platform provides users with an opportunity to learn from CO2 laser specialists around the world, grants access to resources of procedures and serves as an open communication channel for discussion.
"Lumenis' dedication to excellence is expressed not only through our continued development of advanced products and innovative technologies, but also in our strong partnerships with leading head and neck, ENT professionals and primary educational institutions to create advanced enlightening activities through innovative communication channels," said Tzipi Ozer-Armon, CEO of Lumenis.
During the ELS conference, Lumenis will offer various educational activities where surgeons have the opportunity to experience smart tissue management technology first hand:
-Instructional course on CO2 laser techniques and new approaches for LT Stenosis and HPV, to be given by Dr.'s Isabela Vilaseca and Guri Sandhu. Friday, June 10 at 11:00 - 12:00 in room Libeccio
