  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) July 27, 2012 - There are nearly 40,000 foster youth living in Los Angeles County - and this year alone 1,400 young adults will have to leave the support of the foster care system forever. At the age of 18, their cases will be "terminated," and are forced out on to the streets with little life skills and no financial support. Not only are they on the street, now they are vulnerable and exposed to committing theft, prostitution and drug abuse for survival.

The solution? Living Advantage's Virtual Assisted Living and Educational (VALE) program, a secure e-data collection and storage web application that maintains the vital life documents, including Social Security Numbers, birth certificates, and immunization records. Foster Youth will become empowered and self-reliant as they utilize a secured interactive website, specially designed to allow transient individuals access to their vital life documents. This access, in turn, enables in foster care youth to expedite retrieval of educational, employment, medical resources and enable them to be eligible for services.

To build more participation from the community, Living Advantage has an exciting outreach program to reveal itself within the coming year. Living Advantage will actively organize various events and workshops within the community to raise awareness for a persistent social issue in Los Angeles County.

Join Los Angeles' most innovative foster youth non-profit organization for a red carpet fundraising event on November 24, 2012 at Boulevard3 at 7:00pm. Living Advantage, in collaboration with MatTea, brewers of a vocal elixir for the elite, is preparing a spectacular evening raising awareness and increasing support for our city's foster youth. MatTea was featured in the Hollywood celebrity Gift Bags for the Country Music Association Awards.

Come enjoy great food and live entertainment from Yarbrough and Peoples, live DJs, expert guest speakers, among other activities. RSVPs will receive special promotional items from several corporate sponsors, high-end catering, and networking opportunities with influential people in the foster youth community. The mixer coincides with the OFFICIAL launch of Living Advantage's 33/30 club.

The 33/30 Campaign will pave the way for foster youth in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. The 33/30 Club (Thirty Three Thirty Club) will bring together Three Thousand supporters paying $3.30 a month to help at least 300 foster youth "aging-out" of the system a year. For a monthly $3.30, you gain insider access to red carpet events, workshops, news in foster care, and community activities. Invest in your community and in our future today. $3.30 is the average cost of a cup of coffee. If 3000 people forgo one cup of coffee a month, Living Advantage can operate VALE for one year.

On August 18, 2012, Los Angeles' foster community will gather at the L.A. Central Library's Mark Taper Auditorium for a workshop to explore the future of our foster youth. In cooperation with TECHBREW Multi-dimensional MEGA MIXER, the workshop will place special emphasis on making connections for foster youth towards careers in areas of entrepreneurship, inventing, small business development in the green economy, non profits, arts, etc.

This year Living Advantage will further its presence on the Internet by unveiling their EBAY charity store with the support of MissionFish. Now, Living Advantage's supporters nationwide will have direct access to t-shirts, promotional items, and exclusive auctions exhibiting products of in kind-donations from celebrities, local stores, and boutiques.

Willie T. Clay has graciously offered his support to Living Advantage's cause by donating the sales of his book, The Big Walk. Willie T. Clay was the first documented American to walk across the United States and tells an emotional tale on his trials during the Civil Rights era. Proceeds from their partnership will go towards the VALE program to provide services for "at-risk" foster care youth.
