London based New Wave band Southway, release Changing World EP
The new EP, featuring 3 brand new songs from the band, was recorded in their North London studio, where the duo are working on their fourth album to be titled 'The World Outside'.
- (1888PressRelease) December 06, 2012 - In 2010, after a two-year tour that covered dates in Asia and the USA, the duo relocated to London, UK. Work began on the new album shortly thereafter. Speaking of the initial concept for the album, singer Shaun Jason commented, 'just before we left Seoul, South Korea, we had a quick break in Manila, the Philippines to recuperate from our tour, and I remember taking a photograph from our hotel room looking out onto the city that was about twenty floors below us. There was a certain detachment from reality in that picture, a feeling that the world outside was something that we were observing, and yet not fully part of. We thought that was quite an interesting concept for a record, and that was the seed which has stayed with us for the last couple of years, as we have progressed through the writing and recording process'.
Released as an album teaser, the Changing World EP previews the first new songs from the band in 3 years. The EP is available for free download, direct from the band's website at southwaymusic.com. A new video for the title song from the Changing World EP is currently in production and was shot in Central and East London. It also contains video footage from the band's recent live performances. In addition to their current writing and recording schedule, Southway will be playing a number of live shows through the Christmas season in London, with a 2012 finale show booked for New Year's Eve.
The World Outside album is expected to be ready for general release, mid 2013.
