Logic PD to Present on Android-based Medical Device Development at DesignMED

- (1888PressRelease) February 03, 2011 - MINNEAPOLIS - Next week, Logic PD, a global product development and embedded computing provider, will exhibit in booth #7132 at DesignMED in Anaheim, Calif. DesignMED is a technology conference for medical electronic device engineers and designers who develop, design and manufacture advanced medical electronics. In addition to exhibiting, Alan Cohen, medical practice team leader and director of systems engineering for Logic PD, has been invited to present at the event.
Cohen will speak on Wednesday, Feb. 9 from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. PST. His presentation, titled, "Android is the best operating system for many medical applications," will explore the benefits of Android and examine its use in the world of highly-regulated medical devices.

About the Speaker
Alan Cohen has more than 15 years of experience in developing and applying technologies to improve healthcare. As Logic PD's medical practice team leader and director of systems engineering, he interfaces between the company's medical customers and its 100+ design engineers and industrial designers to apply leading-edge technologies to create practical solutions to difficult problems.
Prior to joining Logic PD, Cohen worked for a variety of medical device startups and consultancies involving medical devices and health information technologies. He was a co-founder of Boston Medical Technologies, which transformed a difficult-to‐administer research-lab test for diabetic autonomic neuropathy into a simple and repeatable clinical test.
Cohen holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University. He has been awarded eight U.S. patents for medical and wireless communication technologies including cardiac, neurology and remote diagnostics. Additionally, Cohen has authored a college textbook on computer communications and published articles on medical and connectivity topics.
