Logic Integration Designs AV Systems for World's First Missile Silo "Luxury Survival Condos"
Residents of survival condos can live in the lap of digital luxury with easy-to-use control over technology.
- Denver, CO (1888PressRelease) July 26, 2013 - Logic Integration Inc., a designer of easy-to-operate audiovisual (AV) systems, today announced the completion of a contract to design and install AV systems throughout the first-ever multifamily "Luxury Survival Condos" being constructed inside a nuclear-hardened missile silo.
A 200-foot-deep, 15-story indestructible concrete structure, originally built as an Atlas F Nuclear missile silo, houses the survival condos. Located at a secure facility in central Kansas, the structure is built to protect against a catastrophic event while offering privacy and a comfortable sense of normalcy for its residents.
Logic Integration was contracted by developer Larry Hall to design the AV systems in each private residence and all public spaces. The "Luxury Survival Condos" have been featured in numerous media outlets including CNN, National Geographic's "Doomsday Preppers" and the Travel Channels' "Extreme Survival Bunkers."
"It's not every day that you're contracted to be a part of history on a project of this magnitude with this level of public interest," said Bill Craig, vice president of business development at Logic Integration. "Nothing like this has ever been done before in this way and we're honored that Larry selected us for this project. We have carefully created state-of-the-art and easy-to-use AV systems to make the condos luxurious and user-friendly."
Each condo is equipped with fully integrated multi-zone AV systems, secure wired and wireless network systems, Samsung LED displays, Crestron Digital Media distribution, Crestron intercom, and Crestron lighting control. These complex systems are controlled via simple-to-use iPads and Crestron in-wall touch panels.
Logic Integration also equipped each unit with LCD screens that function as windows to display "landscapes" of the residents' choosing. Purchasers of the condos can customize their space to include additional features such as Crestron Lighting Control and iPad integration.
Public spaces include a tech-ready classroom, indoor pool, arcade, control room and more. A theater furnished with a Stewart Filmscreen, Cinematech Theater Seats and a DPI 1080p LED Projector is expected to be a favorite of residents. Logic Integration also included a full surveillance IC Realtime system to monitor the exterior of the facility along with a 2x2 Planar video wall for the security control room.
About the Facility
The facility is 100 percent self-sustainable with its own energy production, food production, a renewable supply of water, power and waste treatments, security and medical units that allow for long-term, off-grid survival. The "Luxury Survival Condos" include 16 residential units - four full-floor units and 12 half-floor units. Residents will have daily responsibilities and jobs to ensure the comfort and security of the community.
