Local Trader Raises More Than $6,500 for Local Breast Cancer Patients

Orlando based Forex trader, Josh Martinez, has raised over $6,500 for the Pink Army, a local Breast Cancer Awareness charity organization by trading a special live account. Market Traders Institute has a goal of raising $15,000 ($11,543.91 raised so far) by then end of October. End Quote

That's what one currency trading educator in Lake Mary set out to do this month as it launched its Forex Trading for Ta-Ta's campaign where it recruited a local trader to trade with the intention to donate all proceeds to Florida Hospital's Pink Army.

"We constantly say that Forex trading changes people's lives. Now, we want to do what we can with this powerful investment tool to save lives during Breast Cancer Awareness Month," said Josh Martinez, head analyst at Market Traders Institute. "We are a family at MTI and so many of us have been touched by this form of cancer, that we knew we just had to do whatever we could. We know how to make money in this market so it only made sense to use that power for the greater good."

As of this week, Josh Martinez, the trader in charge of trading for a cure this October has placed a total of 14 trades since October 1, 2013 and has made $6,794.90. He says this is just the beginning.

"We have a handful of days to go in the Forex Trading for Ta-Tas campaign. I'm not going to jinx myself by telling you how much I plan to earn before October 31, but I will say that I fully expect this number to grow," said Martinez. "The pressure has been on to do my very best trading just because this is a cause that is so real to me. Knowing survivors and even remembering an aunt who has since passed due to cancer makes this effort just that much more important to me and I really blow this out of the water. Also, these people are in the local community. It doesn't get any better than being able to help people that are so close to home."

This fundraiser is just one small portion of a bigger campaign to raise $15,000 for Florida Hospital. MTI employees are going casual for a cure as well by donating one dollar each day this month in order to drop the business attire and sport their pink pride in the second annual fundraiser of its kind. Authorized MTI education reseller, Next Step Financial Holdings, Inc. is also joining in the fight by donating a portion of its proceeds earned between October 1 and October 31 to the cause. These efforts, along with Martinez's earnings have helped to raise $11,543.91 helping the Forex Trading for Ta-Ta's campaign reach 76% of its goal in the beginning half of the month. While they are proud of their current results, they vow to press forward to reach their goal donation amount before the month's end.
