- San Jose, CA (1888PressRelease) May 28, 2015 - San Jose Catering Company, one of the larger catering companies in the San Francisco Bay Area, has taken on the mission to break the world record for the largest hamburger commercially available to the public. This monumental challenge means that this gargantuan burger must be readily available to be purchased and prepared for the public with 48 hour notice if purchased. Henry Willis, a member of San Jose Catering Company, announced on Tuesday, May 26th, that his company may be competing for this world recond. May 26th happens to be the anniversary of the catering company, says Willis, which is why he made the announcement.
Currently, this world record is held by Juicys Outlaw Grill, a company of Ovations Foodservices. The record is held on the Guinness Book of World Records website (http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/largest-hamburger-commercially-available) and claims that Juicys Outlaw Grill has offered the hamburger that weighs 777 pounds to customers since July of 2011 at their Corvallis, Oregon location. The hamburger has sold for $5,000 and is available for ordering with 48 hour notice for preparation time.
San Jose Catering Company is located in the heart of San Jose near Market Street and serves food for local weddings, parties, and special events. According to their website, the company offers both drop-off and full service catering, and specializes in Italian, American, and barbecue meals. As for actually breaking this world record, we will have to wait and see if Willis of San Jose Catering Company will be able to keep his word.
