Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) October 03, 2018 - Pinellas County non-profit organization, MEOW Now is honored to present kitten rescuer, humane educator and unwavering animal advocate, Kitten Lady, Hannah Shaw for a private workshop presentation on Sunday, October 28th at 10:30 a.m. at the Seminole Recreation Center in Seminole, Florida.

Kitten Lady, Hannah Shaw, is Changing the World for the tiniest felines. Hannahs’s project, Kitten Lady, strives to create global change in the way we perceive and treat the tiniest and most vulnerable felines: orphan kittens. Kitten Lady has amassed a viral social media following with her inspiring and adorable images from the daily life of a kitten advocate and has been featured as a guest expert on Animal Planet’s My Cat from Hell. She has been profiled in People Magazine, Cosmopolitan and other media outlets around the world, and was awarded the 2017 Advocate of the Year Award by CatCon Worldwide.

MEOW Now welcomes Kitten Lady, Hannah Shaw for a 2-hour workshop, Community Cats 101. This training covers effective practices for humanely managing and caring for community cats, including trap-neuter-return, feral kitten socialization, and colony care. Kitten Lady will discuss how and why TNR saves cats’ lives, how to practice TNR in a safe, fun and effective manner and contingency planning for sick cats, nursing moms, feral kittens, etc. Tickets for the workshop are $25 per person and can be purchased from the MEOW Now website.

MEOW Now was formed to implement an effective Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) program for community cats in Pinellas County. MEOW Now is responsible for taking their concern to the Pinellas County Commissioners who on October 21, 2014 finally voted unanimously to amend the county code to allow TNVR in Pinellas. Pinellas County Commissioners and Pinellas County Animal Services endorse TNVR as the best means of controlling and reducing the feral cat population. MEOW Now also provides colony caregivers and independent trappers needed resources and education to help in their mission to make a difference in the lives of local cat populations. Since the fall of 2014, volunteer-based MEOW Now has successfully provided TNVR to over 4,500 free-roaming, community cats and has fostered over 300 kittens that were placed for adoption.
