Murphy Bed store adds donation drop box to help people downsize and assist the local coalition for the homeless.
- Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) July 23, 2010 - Quality Wall Beds is more than just a Murphy Bed store. It is also a place where the public can help the Homeless Coalition of Pinellas County. By collecting used items, it takes space-saving one step further.
The Murphy Bed company has placed a donation box outside of their showroom on 16th Street North in St. Petersburg. It repurposes items to people all around the world.
"We feel that adding a donation box to our site brings new meaning to "space-saving," Jennifer Cudar, co-owner of Quality Wall Beds said. "It gives our customers a chance to give back to the community and practice recycling, all by cleaning out their closets."
Quality Wall Beds has donated to charities in the past, including Shelton Quarles' IMPACT Foundation. They helped design and build a craft area for a single mother in Tampa. Quality Wall Beds also donates used mattresses to the community.
"Whenever we have a chance to help our local community, we jump. It is important for us to be of service whenever we can." Lloyd Burkley, Jennifer's father, said.
Quality Wall Beds welcomes donations of used clothing, shoes, belts, purses and hardcover books. The donation box is accessible 24 hours a day and has forms for people to use as a tax write off.
