Local Company Volunteers to Help Homeless on New Year's Day
Park City real estate company Premier Timeshare Resale heads to Salt Lake City's Pioneer Park to feed and clothe the homeless New Year's Day.
- (1888PressRelease) January 03, 2014 - Premier Timeshare Resale helped Dar Hendrickson and his family with their sixth annual New Year's Day charity event at Pioneer Park. Starting at 10:30 a.m. Dar followed by his family and friends drive to Salt Lake City with food and clothes for the homeless. This event, started by Park City natives, has spread from one family, to friends and other Park City locals that come to help those in need.
The Hendrickson's provided over 300 bowls of chili and soup, along with rolls, desserts coffee, soda, fruit and more. Set up along the sidewalk were racks filled with coats, gloves, socks and hats. People who are homeless ranging from 20 to 60-years-old scoured through the donated winter ware for essential items. Women and men gathered around a heater as they ate and one man even began playing his guitar as a thank you for the food and clothes.
Two Premier Timeshare Resale employees volunteered their time and donated coats, hats and gloves to the event. PTR owner Kelly Marshall and closing coordinator Savannah Turk hung jackets and served coffee. This was Marshall's fourth year and Turk's first year at this charity event. Marshall says it is something she returns to every year because of her passion for being involved in the community and helping others.
"It's great to wake up on the first day of a new year by donating your time to people in need," said Turk.
This is not the only charity event Premier Timeshare Resale is involved with.
