Local Childcare Provider Nominated For International Au Pair Of The Year Award
German Au Pair Recognized for his Outstanding Commitment to Greenwich, CT Family.
- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) April 28, 2014 - Each year the International Au Pair Association, or IAPA, based in the Netherlands, asks families around the world who have an au pair living with them to consider nominating their child care provider for the International Au Pair of the Year Award. IAPA is looking for young care givers who are extraordinary, go above and beyond their duties, and who exemplify the best in child care providers. One local family felt that their au pair fit the bill. The Ullmann family of Greenwich, CT has nominated their au pair, Christopher Grombach from Germany for this prestigious international award. Grombach provides live-in childcare for the Ullmann's three children, and his outstanding dedication and enthusiasm in caring for them led the Ullmanns to nominate Grombach for "International Au Pair of the Year."
Christopher is living with the Ullmann family in Greenwich as part of the Cultural Care Au Pair intercultural exchange and childcare program. He cares for the family's children, both ages 15, in exchange for the opportunity to live in the United States, take classes at an American college, and become part of a real American family.
"Remi's twin brother, Rhett, is a star athlete representing Team USA at regattas all over the world. Through his unique personal and intuitive teaching style, Chris has succeeded in establishing just as deep of a connection with Rhett, as he has with Remi." - says Mrs.Ullmann. "Chris and Rhett have formed a special bond, which renders Chris highly effective in dealing with Rhett, who sometimes can be a bit "high strong", particularly before big regattas."
The International Au Pair Association established the Au Pair of the Year Award to recognize the many great young women and men participating in the au pair program, a demanding cultural exchange and childcare experience. The winner of this year's award will be announced in February and honored at IAPA's annual conference in March in London.
"Christopher has gone above and beyond to create a healthy and enriching environment for his host children, while also challenging himself to learn a new language and culture. He is a great role model for his host children and other young people in the community," said Alexandre Prokouchkine, local sales consultant for Cultural Care Au Pair. "Christopher's commitment and dedication to his host family and community certainly make him the 'Au Pair of the Year' in Connecticut."
