Local Apartment Complex Gives Back to Community
Oakview Apartments Hosts Annual Community Day for Residents.
- Atlantic City, NJ (1888PressRelease) September 19, 2012 - Oakview Apartments, a 210-unit community located in the heart of Millville, NJ, hosted their annual Community Day for residents and surrounding communities on Friday, August 24th. More than 300 residents and community members were in attendance at this year's event, which offers a unique opportunity to give back to and celebrate the community.
Oakview Apartments partnered with and was supported by Holly City Family Success Center, TD Bank, Head Start, Father Time, Parents Anonymous, Sunny Slope and Pure Focus Computer solutions who donated their time, goods and services. Attendees received everything from free school supplies to help with signing their children up for pre-school, and participated in a variety of events, including health screenings, $1 "back-to-school" haircuts, blow-up bounce houses, interactive puppet shows and field games. A DJ provided live entertainment and attendees enjoyed hot dog lunches, ice cream and water ice.
"The goal of our Annual Community Day is to bring communities together and help them succeed," says Jilnell Kolatia, ARM ®, Property Manager at Oakview Apartments. "We truly want to give our residents the tools and connections they need to live a happy life."
As a result of the day's success, Coach Stevan Lynn from the Bronx Network hosted an episode of Dare2Dream during the event and aired it live on the Bronxnet.org website. Holly City Family Success Center was also honored for all of the help and services they provide to improve the quality of life for Oakview residents. Because of the event's continued success, a date has been set for next year's Oakview Community Day - August 30, 2013.
