She originally started this project as a hobby while working at magazines like Good Housekeeping and Esquire, but left the corporate publishing world in 2010 to pursue her dream of being a full-time gift expert. Lindsay has been featured on ABC, NBC, FOX and WGN.

In the interview, Lindsay said that "The Gift Insider" scours boutiques, magazines and the web to find the best, newest, coolest, most unique, most romantic, most perfect gifts for any occasion - so that the readers don't have to. The site tries to make it as easy as possible for the users to find exactly what they are looking for.
Talking about her education, Lindsay said that she went to University of Wisconsin - Madison and graduated with a degree in Journalism, specializing in Public Relations and Advertising.
