Life Learning Cloud, Learning Platform, joins the G-Cloud Framework
UniServity, global provider of award-winning online learning solutions and developer of the Life Learning Cloud learning platform, has been named an accredited supplier on the newly launched Government G-Cloud Framework Lot 3 -(SaaS) Software as a Service category.
- (1888PressRelease) April 07, 2012 - The G-Cloud framework seeks to take advantage of the new era of Cloud computing to transform and simplify the way the UK Government delivers its services. It provides an accepted framework for companies of various sizes to engage openly and equally with government departments and agencies, levelling the playing field. This is particularly important for SME such as Uniservity that can now position their services directly to the government.
Matt Clarke, Chief Executive Officer, UniServity, said , "We're delighted. We have been delivering cloud based solutions for over 10 years. The framework is very significant for us because now, for the first time, the government is supporting and really appreciating the benefits that Cloud services offer in terms of total cost of ownership, skills and scalability."
Local councils, central government services or local schools, will have access to a huge selection of Cloud technology and be able to find the solutions that best suit their needs through a simpler and more transparent procurement system. By creating a competitive marketplace, the G-Cloud Framework also encourages constant improvement in the quality and value of the solutions on offer, driving high standards and innovation.
Matt Clarke, Chief Executive Officer, UniServity, said, "As a supplier of a niche product designed to support and enhance learning in schools, the framework offers us an increased level of exposure. The framework is also especially significant for Local Authorities (LAs) and Schools looking to tender for software purchases over a specific value, as it allows them to act independently and avoid the lengthy and costly OJEC procurement process."
The framework allows customers from the wider public sector to acquire over 1,700 pay-as- you-go ICT services, ranging from Cloud, Platform, Service and Infrastructure, which can be purchased through a purposely built e-marketplace, CloudStore.
Concluding he said, "We are very proud to be part of the G-Cloud Framework. Over 600 suppliers applied but less than half were successful. This coupled with our recent Government Procurement Service Framework and Department for Education accreditation, has opened a huge wealth of opportunities to further cultivate our business growth."
