Whether an entry-level coder seeking their first job or an experienced coder ready to “kick it up a notch,” CPT: Introduction to Procedural Coding prepares coders for the broad challenges of outpatient coding in Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Hospitals, and large Physician Group Practices.

About Gail I Smith, MA, RHIA, CCS-P
Gail is a health care consultant with over 30 years’ experience in health information management (HIM) and education. A nationally recognized expert in coding, Gail has authored coding textbooks on CPT and ICD-10-CM and is the author of several courses for Libman Education including CPT: Introduction to Procedural Coding, CPT Update, ICD-10-CM for Pediatrics, CPT for Pediatrics, and others.
Gail was an associate professor and director of a HIM program at the University of Cincinnati and program director at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. Currently, Gail is a coding consultant for companies specializing in healthcare information technology software applications.
Gail received her bachelor’s degree in HIM from The Ohio State University and her master’s degree in education from The College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati, Ohio. Gail is President of Gail I. Smith Consulting.
