Libman Education Course Authors Lynn Kuehn & Gail Smith Launch Advanced ICD-10-PCS Training with AHIMA
Series of workshops to begin November 12-14 in Chicago and December 10-12 in Orlando; more cities nationwide slated for 2015.
- (1888PressRelease) October 15, 2014 - BEDFORD, MASSACHUSETTS - Nationally recognized ICD-10 experts and Libman Education course authors Lynn Kuehn, MS, RHIA, CCS-P, FAHIMA and Gail I. Smith, MA, RHIA, CCS-P are slated for a series of advanced ICD-10-PCS training workshops around the nation for the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
Titled ICD-10-PCS: Building Advanced Skills Workshops, each three-day, live, hands-on workshop provides participants with the decision making skills needed to successfully use the ICD-10-PCS coding system. The instruction focuses on complex cases commonly encountered in an inpatient setting to facilitate active learning and retention.
The ICD-10-PCS training tour is scheduled to kick off on November 12-14 in Chicago, IL. The next and final workshop for 2014 is from December 10-12 in Orlando, FL. In 2015, the workshop is planned in major cities nationwide.
Lynn, whom AHIMA recently awarded a 2014 AHIMA Triumph Literary Legacy Award for co-authoring the book ICD-10-PCS: an Applied Approach, called it "a great honor to collaborate with AHIMA."
She added, "This series of workshops are important for anyone wanting to take their knowledge of ICD-10-PCS to the next step to increase understanding, speed and accuracy. During this three-day course, learning will be body system-based with the clinical discussion of procedures and the coding concepts. I look forward to working with Gail to provide medical coders engaging, challenging workshops that will stretch their ICD-10-PCS knowledge and help prepare them for next year's ICD-10 deadline."

Designed by Gail, this set of nine 5×7, double-sided reference cards enables one to learn the root operations quickly and to understand how to identify each in a medical record.
