Lexmark International Inc. (NYSE: LXK) today announced the appointment of Mathias Militzer as the company's new General Manager for the Middle East. Militzer's appointment will further support Lexmark's continual growth strategy and drive its leadership position in the print and imaging products and solutions market throughout the region.

Having worked for Lexmark retail & B2B in Europe, Middle East and Africa for Lexmark's former Inkjet Division, responsible for Lexmark sales growth and operations for more than nine years, Militzer brings a wealth of experience and industry expertise to his new role as General Manager.

Militzer's primary objective in this new role is to increase the company's customer portfolio across its extensive range of innovative printing and imaging products, software, solutions and services.

Additionally, Militzer will directly drive and support the sales and business relationship management teams, developing strategies to support uptake of the company's award winning range of output devices. He will also play an integral role in driving momentum for Lexmark's focused vertical solutions including government, education, health, manufacturing, banking and finance, and retail sectors.

Militzer joined Lexmark in 2003 as a Director for ISD Germany, leading sales, marketing and operations of Lexmark's inkjet and retail business in Germany. He also served as General Manager of Region and Export EMEA at Lexmark's former Inkjet Division and as General Manager Retail EMEA. Before assuming his current role he was General Manager Retail and B2B EMEA.

Prior to joining Lexmark, Militzer was the National Sales Director for Consumer Electronics at Sharp Inc. in Germany. Militzer began his career in Mars Inc. Sales Division where he worked as a Key Account Manager and Sales Director. Militzer studied agricultural economics at Humboldt University Berlin, Germany.
