Lexco Cable Joins Technology Manufacturing Association
Lexco Cable joined the Technology Manufacturing Association on Nov. 12, allowing them to offer customers unparalleled access to resources for almost any project.
- Chicago, IL (1888PressRelease) February 21, 2015 - Lexco Cable, a custom mechanical cable assemblies specialist which distributes wire rope, aircraft cable, bungee cords, and related fittings and hardware, is proud to announce its membership in the Technology & Manufacturing Association (TMA). Through this membership, Lexco Cable can offer customers unparalleled access to resources for almost any project, regardless of level of complexity.
With 900+ members in North Eastern Illinois, TMA (http://www.tmaillinois.org/) is a non-profit manufacturing association that brings together leading precision manufacturers and suppliers. The association is committed to recognizing manufacturers as value-added producers of goods and services, and to create high-quality jobs for all Illinois citizens.
Since its founding in 1925, TMA has grown from eight small manufacturing companies to a strong coalition of precision manufacturers and suppliers throughout Illinois, dedicated to help businesses grow, train employees and provide complete insurance and retirement benefits. By combining their resources, the association provides a range of benefits and a variety of programs to help stimulate local job growth and improve and sustain education in manufacturing technology.
TMA also promotes a strong sense of mutual support within its members and throughout the industry at large. To this end, the association advocates on behalf of its members' interests to engender growth and offer positive benefits to TMA members and to Illinois communities.
"Joining TMA was a natural fit for Lexco," said David Karbin, Product Manager at Lexco Cable. "One of the pillars of our Quality Policy is to 'continuously improve.' Sometimes, those improvement ideas come internally, but by participating at TMA events, we open ourselves up to an immense wealth of practical ideas that will help us to accelerate our company's improvements."
TMA offers a variety of services ranging from media relations to leadership training and education. It also provides access to employee training for new skills, seminars, networking opportunities, and guest speakers.
"Lexco Cable joined TMA and immediately did what most members should do-raise their hands and ask a question," said Kent Gladish, Senior Marketing and Sales Director at TMA. "TMA connects members to others who have solved that problem. David Karbin's questions are excellent, challenging, and needed by others. In one case, the TMA Marketing committee will be asked to assist with a comprehensive answer."

About Lexco Cable:
Lexco has domestic and overseas manufacturing capability. We have a network of suppliers for wire rope, aircraft cable, micro-sized cable, bungee, fittings, and related services to provide you with your specific custom cable or bungee assembly. We extrude vinyl and nylon. We have hydraulic presses and automatic cable cutters. We have pull testing capabilities for your proof testing and pull testing requirements.
Lexco Cable is a family-owned and operated business. It began as a hardware store and Schwinn franchise on Chicago's west side in the 1950s. It continued as a Schwinn bicycle shop on the city's north side in the 60s. In the 70s, Lexco began extruding aircraft cable and making bicycle and retail security cables. During the 1980s and 1990s, industrial applications for cable and wire rope assemblies were developed, and capabilities supporting applications fleshed out. In the 2000s, bungee assemblies, push-pull controls, and their unique elements were developed.
We have been ISO 9001:2008 certified since 2009.
We enjoy the challenges of new applications and welcome your inquiries.
