- Erie, PA (1888PressRelease) September 15, 2010 - Three new tenants have signed leases totaling 7,290 square feet at Liberty Center, announced Levin Management Corporation, managing agent for the landmark 227,000-square-foot retail property. Liberty Center's newest additions join a tenant roster anchored by Tops Markets and Peebles department store.
"All three newcomers are a perfect fit for Liberty Center, which continues to draw considerable interest from prospective tenants," said Dale Mulartrick, Broker - Salesperson and Director of Leasing at Levin Management. "We are pleased with the ongoing success of the recent leasing effort which initially included an incubator program that attracted these three tenants. Although designed to attract start-up operations, Levin's incubator program also brought the property to the attention of small, existing businesses. Two of the three new Liberty Center tenants operate at other locations as well.
Tightwad Tobacco, a roll-your-own tobacco store that sells loose-leaf tobacco and specialty cigars, was represented by Rick Churchfield of Jabe Companies in its commitment for 3,500 square feet. Werner Books, a purveyor of new and used books, has signed a lease for 2,500 square feet in a direct transaction. And Zoom Wireless, a marketer of cellular phones with pre-paid plans, has taken 1,290 square feet and is already open for business.
"We have been impressed by the center's management and consumer traffic," said Zoom Wireless owner and local entrepreneur Julia Loader. "This market has been very strong for us, and we have been seeking to grow here. Liberty Center has long been a shopping destination in Erie and provides us with the perfect opportunity to grow our business."
Peter S. Mitchell of Passport Real Estate represented Levin Management in each of the three transactions.
Located at the intersection of West 38th and Liberty streets, the recently renovated Liberty Center is just one block from Erie County's second busiest crossroad.
