Lemonheads Candy Celebrates 48 Years In 2010
Lemonheads candy celebrates 48 years in 2010 and is as popular as ever after nearly half a century.
- (1888PressRelease) September 25, 2010 - Lemonheads candy is still just as popular as ever after 48 years in production. They were developed in 1962 by the Ferrara Pan Candy Company of Forest Park, Illinois (founded in 1908), which also makes other favorites, such as Atomic Fireballs, Original Boston Baked Beans, and Red Hots. Available at bulk pricing via http://www.LemonheadsCandy.com, Lemonheads are still America's favorite tart lemon candy.
Today Ferrara Pan pumps out 500 million of the little sour candies every day from the same factory in America's heartland, just outside of Chicago. Millions of people worldwide are connected by their love for Lemonheads candy. Founder Salvatore Ferrara immigrated to Chicago from Italy in 1900. In 1908 Ferrara Pan Candy Company was founded and specialized in what was called "Confetti", or candy coated almonds used in Italian wedding parties.
Made today using the same recipe developed in 1962, there is real lemon juice in the deliciously tart outer coating. Production has been increased many times over the years. From barely being able to keep up with demand in the '60s to pumping out 500 million Lemonheads per year as of the last published count.
Ferrara Pan recently expanded what they call their "Headline" assortment. They are now offering Grapeheads, Appleheads, Cherryheads, and Orangeheads in addition to the original Lemonheads candy. There are plenty of options for ordering the sweet tasting Ferrara Pan favorites, but the website http://www.LemonheadsCandy.com has great bulk pricing and plenty of selection and options for packaging and quantities.
