Leicestershire Based Equipment Dealer Supply Profile Cutting Machine To Basra
Leicestershire based Westermans announce their biggest and most exciting order to date.
- (1888PressRelease) June 03, 2011 - Westermans, the UK based supplier of used welding and cutting machinery are pleased to announce the recent completion of a large order destined for Basra, Iraq. The holding group in Jordan placed an order initially for the largest machine Westermans had ever undertaken to refurbish fully - a BOC Hancock machine with a cutting capability of 25m in length.
With the customer requiring a fully refurbished CNC profile cutting machine, the job proved to be a new challenge for the team who worked overtime in order to complete the refurbishment in less than a month.
Added to this, the Middle Eastern group placed a further order for two new Hypertherm Powermax 1650 plasma cutters to add to their capital equipment. The company is the leading group in Basra in many fields including concrete, precast, construction and marine industries.
Before loading the machine into the 40ft container, sales director at Westermans, Craig Westerman, arranged a video of the profile cutter in operation. This can be viewed on their YouTube channel, Westermanswelders. Technology that is able to showcase the actual machine in full operation gives confidence to many of Westermans overseas clients who purchase the heavy, industrial welding and cutting equipment.
Westermans are a small and tight knit company that were founded by Peter Westerman in the 1960s. Peter has over 50 years' experience within the machinery industry and during this time has built up a solid reputation within the UK's breadth of welding supply and heavy engineering firms.
The last 4 months has seen a 38% increase in sales for the Leicestershire based equipment dealer, with the majority of this turnover coming from the sale of gas and plasma profile cutting equipment. They have also secured orders for an ESAB Combirex CNC portal plasma cutter for Greece and an ESAB Falcon cantilever profile machine for one of the largest structural fabrication companies in India.
This is good news for the metalworking industry - Westermans know from nearly 50 years of trading that the trend will now mean an increase in sales of metal joining equipment and positioning machinery, and will also increase the availability of jobs within a variety of sectors.
