- Las Vegas, NV-AZ (1888PressRelease) October 08, 2010 - Legacy High School quarterback Jordan Pinkney scored on fourth-and-two with three minutes remaining last Friday night to become the most recent Dandy Star of the Week as presented this high school football season by the Las Vegas service location of ARSŪ/Rescue RooterŪ. The Dandy Star of the Week is announced each Wednesday on the company's Facebook page, which is also a resource for industry news and tips.
Pinkney ran 39 yards for the tiebreaking touchdown to lead the Longhorns to a 20-14 victory over Cimarron-Memorial. He also scored on runs of 12 and eight yards and combined for 131 yards of total offense.
Founded in 1974, ARSŪ/Rescue RooterŪ provides exceptional heating, air conditioning, and plumbing service to Southern Nevada homeowners. Much like the ARS service technicians, the weekly Dandy Stars are selected for their talent and leadership qualities.
Past winners included Cimarron-Memorial running back Christian Brown, Basic running back Benito Gutierrez, Eldorado quarterback JaQuorrey Williams, and Palo Verde running back Brandon Wright.
Brown rushed for 323 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries and forced two Faith Lutheran fumbles on first-and-goal plays in the Spartans 37-18 home victory in week four. He ran for 17 and 61-yard touchdowns in the first quarter and had 175 yards at halftime. But he wasn't done yet as he rushed for 148 yards in the second half and scored on runs of 48 yards in the third quarter and 51 yards in the fourth.
Guiterrez rushed for only 34 yards on nine carries and scored just two points in week 3, but he came up big when it counted. Guiterrez dove for a 2-point conversion in the fourth quarter to lead the Wolves to a 22-21 comeback victory over the Canyon Springs Pioneers.
In week two, Williams combined for 245 yards (passing 130 and rushing 115) to win the honor. He also scored two touchdowns as the Sundevils beat the Coronado Cougars, 32-19.
In week one, Wright rushed for 292 yards and four touchdowns on 12 carries to lead the Panthers to a 62-20 victory over the Green Valley Gators.
